have spent about 4 hours today to this point ..... really didn't want to start, perhaps because weather is fine. ..... also perhaps feeling bored?? about subject ... ie not more scanning, don't want to cut out cardboard etc. etc..... what's the point. I am away mon/tues for a break to Sheffield, so hoping when i get back will feel a bit more inspired. I think the way i am working, creating a few different samples of work isn't helping, so just need to get on with this for awhile longer before i appraise what i've done and see where to go next.
Scanning always takes awhile but not long enough to do anything else, but enjoyed manipulating images in picasso. I need to think through the difference between texture and pattern ... is there always a difference between the two??
for the scans i used a remnant of brown paper with paint dribbles, 2 old cushions, dried orange peel and flowers, tea bag and kitchen roll t.bags dried on, a spray can.... all things just to hand ...i sould of gone on with other bits but decided i had enough. Savinf files and working between programmes also takes time, but i am able to note how this affects resolution and am trying to understand this for the future. Some of the images below were straight from scanner, but most have been processed in picassa, and some cropped either to enhance image or to check resolution. I have used filterwhich pixilates image and added neon filter foe effect. I twork on each image individually and don't keep a written record as it would just take too long, but if i needed to i could back track on an image to see what had done. Today i am just going to post images as a record of what has been created.
Going to try a mass upload of photos to see what happens!.... which did work, but i wish they were lined up better. ... this has generated quite a few idea to follow up, but i need to allow some time to pass before further reflection and where to go next.... anyway happier now than before i started.
It's good that i don't have to make further decisions at moment; i can still my critical brain and just let the images speak for themselves ... some ok, some better than others and some interst me more than others.
