black and blue

“A painter should begin every canvas with a wash of black, because all things in nature are dark except where exposed by the light.” ― Leonardo da Vinci

yesterday i was considering the use of blue over black???

perhaps it's all showing darkness and how that is best achieved.

images from week2 day1 page.

Here, I prefer the blue (indigo, cyanotype) ..it seems a bit more dynamic?

Just discovered blue picturesby heron, nicholson and lanyon, all very different, but the same influences of squares and circles can be noted.

sometimes it just seems impossible to get images linesd up in blogger!!
