ok ... had a good day off on fri and visited filey,bridlington and driffield. ... hard to find a good coffee stop after living on IOM and now in malton. Stopped in bridlington old town and it felt strange, so derelict but buildings used to be fine georgian? ,,, priory well and truly locked.! Loved visiting flamborough head nd will go there again. ...took photos of interesting old tractor ... strange how some things can appear beautiful whilst others just derelict. Recently read article about how hartlepool just left to rot and today about suggestion of bringing new train link to north 6 years earlier to help stop decline ... afterrecently returning to uk,many places do seem to be in need of regeneration .. but we can't all live in a theme park! Quickly visited castle howard on sunday and was really busy seeing house not yet open. Think once explored area a bit more it will be more refresshing to just walk in countryside or along beach than to visit towns.
Did some more research ... guess it's all to do with positioning myself as an artist. Was captured by alberti burri and arte povre. also anselm kiefer, donald sultan and (again!) gerhard richter.... i seem to be thinking along lines of materiality . bk 'destroy the picture:painting the void 1949-1962' paul schimmel (2012) keeps re-appearing so i have ordered it. Also designed and ordered business cards from vista print using same logo as on website ... and really need to finish website today.
