Last night started working on making new website. Just been listening to a video by Peter Bregman on communication; Caroline mentioned in last tutorial about positioning myself commercially .... so i am trying to join up the dots in that anything i communicate says something about me and my attitude/beliefs towards life,and therefore what am i saying about my art...i.e. (i should be saying that) i believe in myself as a professional artist and that i have something worth listening to or buying... talking the talk,walking the walk so to speak.I need to mention this in my PPP update. Have chosen this image because it's about paint and i find it a satisfying image. i made it about 2 years ago (was it bitumen? on paper) when i was thinking about zen, wabi sabi and calligraphy. (I have so many ideas/info started but just waiting to be explored further.) I am wanting/needing to reposition myself as an artist without as yet having a new body of work after moving to yorkshire (which is not disimilar to iom in regard to contemp. abstract art. mainly landscape art .. if any..round here.... have also realised that a lot of my work hasn't really been abstract work eg biological forms) .... So what am i about then!!!! ... somedays i just don't know! perhaps the exploratory project will help me find out... i hope so, although all the research and thinking about other artists is helping. Feel i am definately 2D (not intersted in making sculpture, installation work etc.) I feel drawn towards the meeting points of art/design,commerce; art/science; macro/micro; art/technology; lanscape-internal/ external; random,chance,chaos/order,pattern, mathematical; old/new; b+w/colour; technology/craft; experimental/ prescribed..... a lot of options here, just about everything really ...!!
Writing a private blog like this helps to separate off these thoughts from website ... some writings need to be censored / aimed towards audience. My audience at moment is ? Castle Galleries, a professional chain of art galleries. Also need to update Saatchi online page and start artsros fb page. ... blog on my website? and/or a-n website. Connect them all with logo below. Think this logo says 'arty' but leaves open direcction without indication of what that may be. Need to carefully select which images include in archive ...not too many! ...again who am i as an artist?
