Today has been weekly day off and we went to castle howard for coffee. When i got home i found all the cans of paint left over from house decoration, as wondering whether to use these colours in exploratory project. Although last night i looked through my wonderful book 'Still Life - inside the antarctic huts of scott and shackleton'. ...the photos are so textured and beautifully textured with rich natural, muted colours of grey, blue, brown, taupe, white and black. Full of nostalgic memories and reminded me of the derelict stables i saw in scotland... the time i stayed on the calf of man for 7 days (bird sanctuary)... iona and the orkneys, the 16century farmhouse and Baileys home stores (holiday last year),  and also new york, especially chelsea market. Still life re-entered my thinking and i wondered about making some cardboard relief panels??Whilst  thinking about colour, remembered i had a 'the Colours of Mann',an environmental colour assessment for douglas and surrounding area.... which is a study that identifies a range of colours for use within Douglas and the Isle of Man, based on site research into indigenous colours...... Think i need to identify my indigenous colours!!!!
This page is soooo different to one i made about my thoughts yesterday.
This afternoon i've just sat at laptop and looked up artists that came to mind and who's work i've seen ... find it really interesting that that strongly link in with my thoughts after looking at book,'still life'
