I have the day ahead of me to organise how i want till meal at 7pm this evening... and i should really fit in a walk.Tomorrow i am out exploring more of yorkshire coastline ( in theory my/our day offf) So today I need to write up my tutorial from Mon and continue recording some intersting stuff discovered recently .... feel there's some catchup to do in this respect.
My day so far ....
1.First thing thing read a bit more from 'on not knowing. how artists think' - chps 'creative accounting, not knowing in talking and making', and 'unidentified foreign objects',phyllida barlow -where artists talk about a kind of wandering through ideas to see what emerges, both pre project and during it ... 'it is a wandering motion ..... when you just .... in french it is derive, you know this idea of just wandering and collecting as you go, without any predetermined intention.' (p81 oboussier in dialogue with vong phaophonit).
I feel this is my process at moment. It feels strange spending time on researhing i'm not sure what for (not a process i'm used to). Another chp, 'ahead of yes and no....heidegger on not knowing and art', is pulling me to read ...maybe because there is a 2010 (enamel) richter painting in it?
2.Watched TED talk 2013 (from inbox) by Henry linn, 'what we can learn from gallaxies far away' which ties in with other research i've been doing.
3 watched TED Ryan Halliday 'to hear this music you have to be there literally' about site specific sounds, from central park ,ny. This ties in with some other research on sound installation.(for another blog, like above!)
4. Checked out Saatchi, artist to watch (inbox),ana devora and liked her work ...perhaps because it reminded me of some of mine! Then cleared inbox with some to read later.

5.Quick flick through FB as follow several interesting sites, (artists, magazines, organisations, space agencies etc.) .... nothing to follow up today.
6. a-n magazine ... just a quick check as i had a good look through yestarday after subscribing.
7.Quickly checked Pinterest and liked a few images of interest. I enjoy pinterest and find it a useful tool for saving images i am interested onto boards (140 boards, 17,000 pins and towards 4,000 followers) BUT i need to keep the ability to restrict time to about 15 mins max on general pinning unless i find something of particular interest .... i am following some interesting stuff though.
I related to pin below of artist scott bergeys work and notice a distinct similarity to above and sea walls of robin hoods bay. ..... its got to be coffee time now!!!! i wish i was quicker at this kind of writing ..... wish it could be done telepathically in an instant, lol.

Also started reading 'where the heart beats' about john cage. Hadn't realised Pat Steir was greatly influenced by cage. Saw PS work in 2011 in chelsea gallery, ny, and was greatly impressed ... think she was my influence for 'dribbled' work..... her works are huge.

Also saw Markoto Fujimura's work in next door gallery .... he also seems to have been influenced by her in the randomness of the painting/dribbles.
